The colors of autumn

This post was meant to made a long time ago. I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with my blog :( Haha, why am I even apologizing? Nobody reads my Blogger anyways. All of y'all are constantly stalking me on Tumblr...

I visited Binghamton, what, three weeks ago? The campus is extremely ugly. I can't imagine myself going to school there, as I am somebody who not wants, but needs, to be surrounded by prettiness. The bus ride to and back was pretty fun; I met some new people :D Oh teenagers, there's nothing like singing songs at the back of the bus.

Two weekends ago, I went with my family to a Buddhist Temple upstate. It was a beautiful place, especially because of the fall foliage. It is refreshing to get out of the city every once in a while. Everybody needs some peace and serenity in their lives, right? To de-stress and just get away...

The past week has been stressful, being a Questbridge finalist and all. I did not expect to be a finalist, but here I am, scramming to get last minute supplementary materials. I'm not putting in maximum effort because I know that I will not get the scholarship. Everyone is telling me, "You never know!" But I know. I know not to put my hopes on something. I like some of my Regular Decision schools, anyways :)

I just thought I'd do a quick little update before I go to sleep. I'm supposed to wake up pretty early to visit Binghamton University tomorrow but I'm still up for some reason. I guess it's because I watched this movie called Keith and now my mind is restless.

School is fine. The stress is starting to kick in--and by stress I mean real stress. The long homeworks, plentiful essays and projects, if you go to Tech you know how it works here. College applications are driving me nuts as well. Even though I'm done with Questbridge there's still so much to do with the Common App! I'm very grateful for having Yearbook last period because I get to end my day with these lovely people. (Yes we made a pyramid!)

This Friday I got to see my best friend again :) I haven't seen her since September and it was lovely catching up with her at Union Square (our favorite place to be). Like we always do, we ate ice cream at McDonalds, bummed around Barnes & Nobles, and walked around the street markets. I think we're both at that point in our pathetic little teenage lives where we just don't know what the hell we are doing with ourselves. Can I even call this a mid-life teenage crisis?

One month down, a lot more to go.

It's finally October! Although September went by really quick, it left with a bang. Tornadoes, hurricanes, and bipolar weather! Good thing the chilly weather is kicking in for October.

Today was the Brooklyn Tech vs. Jefferson High School homecoming football game. Not surprisingly, we lost 38-40. Our football team isn't so great so I wasn't as disappointed as the rest of the Tech crowd.

Sports photography is very difficult! Yes, this was my first time shooting a game. I did not have proper equipment. I mean, come on, I only have a measly kit lens and a 50! I didn't bring my 50 to the game so Horin lent his to me. The 50 doesn't even begin to provide a focal range long enough to capture action shots. So instead of shooting the players, I tried to focus on the crowd. They weren't very animated. Thank goodness Constantine and the rest of the wrestling team were there to get them cheering.

I prefer these two photos in black and white :)

Is it amazing that this was my first high school football game? New York City high schools aren't very into football, but the teams still put a lot of effort into the games. I feel bad for them because they don't usually get the crowd that they deserve. Tech doesn't have the greatest football team in the city but I still commend them for their dedication. I probably will go to more Tech games in the future, regardless of the sport.
Yay for school spirit. GO BROOKLYN TECH!
